Our funding comes from four main sources. Two of these sources are the local Fremont County and Cañon City governments. The County’s portion pay’s for our insurance that covers our vehicles and equipment. The city’s portion usually pays for some equipment that will benefit the city’s citizens.
The State of Colorado through its Search & Rescue Fund provides a major part of the funds required for purchasing new and replacing old equipment and the yearly training required for team members.
An important source of funds is the donations from individuals and businesses. It is through these generous people that we receive a large part of the funds that we need for our operating expenses and specialized equipment.
