The Sheriff of Fremont County is pleased to announce the addition of a full-time chaplain assigned to meet the spiritual needs of the men and women incarcerated in the Fremont County Detention Center. Our chaplain will have oversight of all faith-based activities occurring in the detention center and will handle all emergency notifications to inmates in the detention center. For anyone interested in volunteering services to assist in meeting the spiritual needs of the incarcerated, the chaplain may be reached at (719) 276-5513.

Chaplain Ken and Nona Odom
Ken comes to Colorado from Orange County Corrections Department in Orlando, Florida where he served his last seven years as Senior Chaplain for Good News Jail & Prison Ministry in one of the largest jails in the nation. His experience includes over twenty-five years of working in crisis intervention and ministry. He has served as a certified Disaster Relief Chaplain, Volunteer Highway Patrol Chaplain, Educational Therapist, and Clinical Assistant
working with troubled youth. He has an earned a BA in Religious Education, a Masters Degree in Marriage & Family Counseling and was ordained into the ministry in 1995. Ken, his wife, Nona and son, Joshua have chosen to
be part of the ministry team in Cañon City and have two daughters serving in other states as well.
