Master Plan Workshops
The Planning Commission is currently conducting the first phase of the Master Plan rewrite. This is being done at monthly Master Plan Workshops held the third Tuesday of each month from 6-8 pm. (Please note, this process has been suspended for the summer.) This phase will take at least several months.
During the workshops, the Planning Commission will be conducting a chapter by chapter review of the Master Plan to evaluate its relevance to the current circumstances of the community. Written public comment is welcomed and accepted up to two weeks prior to each workshop and should relate to the posted agenda. Comments can be sent to the county website or by mail. Comments should be confined to specific changes or suggestions to the Master Plan. Names of contributors should accompany comments.
Once the Planning Commission has completed this first phase of the Master Plan rewrite, then formal public input will be gathered by a series of public meetings, written comments, and internet submissions. Further review of the formal public comment will then be done by the Planning Commission in the form of additional workshops. A final draft of the Master Plan will eventually be submitted to the County Commissioners after a yet-to-be-determined series of workshops and public meetings have been completed.
