Temporary Medical Marijuana Regulations
The Board of County Commissioners adopted temporary regulations dealing with medical marijuana at the March 9th meeting. The Commissioners will conduct a public hearing at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13th, on these regulations to determine if they should be extended. Comments can be submitted in writing, in advance, to the Fremont County Planning and Zoning Department, Room 210, 615 Macon Avenue, Cañon City CO 81212. You may submit comments by Email to bocc@fremontco.com by 10 a.m. Monday, April 12th.

Trash vouchers are available to rural residents now at the Fremont County Commissioner's office, Room 105 at the County Administration building. You must show proof of residency. Vouchers are good through April 23rd.

Fremont County elected officials have selected Linda Smith as Fremont County's Employee of the Year for 2009.
Linda is the Finance and Operations Administrator for the Department of Human Services and has been at DHS for 22 years.
Employee's of the Year are chosen by our elected officials from nominations submitted in writing by Fremont County employees.
Congratulations Linda!
SEEDLING TREES ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE COLORADO STATE FOREST SERVICE
More than 40 varieties of deciduous and evergreen seedling trees and shrubs are available to farmers, ranchers and rural landowners with 2 or more acres. Seedling trees and shrubs from the Colorado State Forest Service may be purchased at low cost, and are recommended plantings for windbreaks, shelter belts, erosion control, reforestation, and wildlife habitat. Small and Large Potted seedling trees are sold in boxes of 30. Bare Root seedlings are sold in bundles of 50.
Property owners are advised to plan before they plant, and staff at the Canon City district office of the Colorado State Forest Service are available to assist with decisions about seedling trees prior to purchase.
Tree order forms are available at the Canon City district office. Call (719) 275-6865 or stop by the office during regular business hours to pick up an order form brochure, as well as a Tree Buyer’s Guide, and the Planning, Planting and Care Guide.
The Canon City district office of the Colorado State Forest Service is located at 515 McDaniel Blvd. Order forms are also available at Post Office lobbies in Fremont and Custer counties.
